Welcome to the Manhattan Roller Hockey League website.  The league is comprised of 18 teams, divided into Tier 1/Empire Conference and Tier 2/Liberty Conference skill levels, sponsored by Manhattan professional firms and establishments.  The Fall 2011 Regular Season has ended and our Tier 1 and Tier 2 championship titles have been decided per the playoffs games shown on the Fall 2011 Game Schedule and Results page.  Congratulations to Professor Thom’s and their Captain/Playoffs MVP Adam Root for winning the Tier 1 championship and to Special Delivery and Captain/Playoffs MVP Mike Hauptman for winning the Tier 2 title.

You can see some great pictures taken by Steve Zaitz of the December 10th Tier 1 Finals Games 2 and 3 pregame warm-ups, game action and the trophy presentations to Professor Thom’s as the first album in our Mediashare account (which also contains slideshows and video clips from the past ten seasons).  Longer form game videos are available on our YouTube playlist and on our Vimeo page.

A Wall Street Journal article dated June 13th 2011 features interviews with MRHL officials and players at the June 4th and 5th Spring 2011 Championship Finals playoff games.  You can find videos from three of the June 4th Semifinals games on YouTube.

Details about the playoff format and how playoff seeds are awarded, and how teams were promoted or relegated before the Fall 2011 season started, can be found at the bottom of each of our Empire Conference / Tier 1 and Liberty Conference / Tier 2 standings pages.

You can find information about our teams and their players by clicking on the links on our Team Information and Team Scoring/Playing Roster pages.   Equipment requirements and league rules can be found on our Playing Rules page.

The Game Schedule/Results Calendar features scores and game notes from the Summer 2007 through Fall 2011 Regular Season and Playoff games.

After the Fall 2011 championship finals have ended and our break for the Winter is over our Spring 2012 Regular Season will start in March with games played on Saturdays from 9:00AM until 12:00PM and on Sundays from 9:00AM until 1:00PM at the Paul McDermott Rink in the Stanley Isaacs Playground at 96th Street and First Avenue in Manhattan.  The Spring 2012 season is tentatively scheduled to run from Saturday March 3rd until playoffs ending in late June.

The league, in our partnership with the Yorkville Youth Athletic Association, will once again be offering a Spring 2012 instructional program for children in Grades 1 through 6. Details about the program are on the YYAA Roller Hockey page.

You can read an October 2008 New York Times article about the doctors of our NYU MED team (now known as Van Diemens Bar & Grill)  playing the accountants of our PricewaterhouseCoopers team.

Short interview clips posted by the website HockeyBarn.com feature players from the AXA Advisors, NYU MED, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Special Delivery teams of the Spring 2009 season.

Our inaugural season Summer 2007 League Championship Finals were played with a SportsNet NY crew filming the contest and interviewing the league’s players and officials for a SNY series called “Street Games”.  You can watch this episode, originally broadcast on October 3, 2007, on our Photos/Video page or on YouTube.  We no longer use a hockey ball for our games as shown in the show.  We currently use a ProPuck now that our rink has been coated with a StreetIce paint surface.

Please see our Contacts page for a list of MRHL board members and team captains and their email addresses.
