The Yorkville Youth Athletic Association, the MRHL’s hockey ally, have set up a free street/ball hockey instructional clinic which is sponsored by Modell’s Sporting Goods and Mylec Hockey and taught by three members of Team USA Ball Hockey. This clinic will start at 2:00PM on Saturday September 28th at the Stanley Isaacs Hockey Rink located at 96th Street and First Avenue in Manhattan.
All are invited to attend this event which will be taught by the three members of Team USA Ball Hockey noted below. The pictures below are from a recent Modell’s / Mylec street/ball hockey clinic taught on Long Island by Matt Moulson of the New York Islanders.
A resident of Port Jefferson, NY, Jay Machin has been one of the most esteemed ambassadors to the sport of street/ball hockey. Jay has played, coached, refereed, organized events and traveled North America for the last 25 years doing what he loves. Jay has coached hundreds of championship teams in his career and continues to strive to grow street/ball hockey in America. No place will you find a better speaker, motivator or wiser hockey mind in the sport.
Anthony is currently a member of Team USA in the Master’s Division. He also currently participates in Mens A-Level play on some of the country’s top teams including the Mid-Atlantic Shock and Buffalo Fusion. A resident of Bellport, NY, Anthony has been one of the top players in the last 20 years on the Mens A-level and has been one of the best players to ever come out of the downstate New York region.
John is from Ronkonkoma, New York and currently is a resident of West Islip. John studied Sports Management at Dowling College and is an Assistant Coach with the NY Apple Core. John came from a rich background as a high-level roller hockey player that has recently discovered street/ball hockey. John was selected to represent Team USA in June 2013 in the ISBHF World Championships in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
