 Chelsea Piers Memories:
Click here for photographs of the B2 Division Goldman Sachs and Sharkz teams in action during the final season at the Chelsea Piers Roller Rinks and from the August 22, 2006 victory celebration by the Royal Elks over the Bridge & Tunnel team for the last roller hockey championship won at that rink. The 3 Fat 1 Skinny team beat the East End Rangers for the B1 championship on August 21st and The Hate beat Big Slick for the A Division championship on August 14th, 2006.
After eleven years the Chelsea Piers adult roller hockey program was shut down in August 2006 so the rink and skate park could be destroyed to make room for the Chelsea Waterside Park segment of the Hudson River Park. While a "new skate park facility" will be built at Pier 62 this segment will not be completed until the Fall of 2009 and no roller hockey rink is specifically mentioned or shown on the Renderings or Plan at this link:
